Income Tax Department
Everyone who lives within the Village limits and/or performs work within the Village is responsible for filing an income tax return with the Village of Hartville.

There is currently a 1% income tax on all salaries, wages, commissions and other financial compensation for everyone who lives in or performs work within the Village. You will receive credit up to 1% for taxes paid to other municipalities. The majority of the income tax is used to partially fund the Police Department, Village Park, Capital Improvements, and the Administration of the Village. There are many uses for the money received from the income taxes. Without this tax, it would be almost impossible for the Village to function.
