Hartville Mayor's Court serves as a local judicial forum to rule on misdemeanor offenses alleged to be in violation of the Village's Codified Ordinances.

Mayor's Court Information

Mayor's Court is in session at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, once per month. The Hartville Clerk of Court's office is located in the Hartville Village Hall, 202 W. Maple Street, Hartville, Ohio 44632.

Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of Thursdays, we are open from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

Waiver Schedule

A waiverable citation means that the individual may pay their citation without appearing in court. Please see the Waiver Schedule for fees. If using the waiver schedule you will need to find the charge that is listed on your ticket and then locate the charge on the waiver schedule. If you have any questions, please call the Clerk of Court.

Payment Options

If you were issued a citation in the Village of Hartville and your violation is in the Fine Schedule, you may waive your right to appear in Mayor's Court. By doing so, you are pleading guilty to the violation. Payments must be received PRIOR to the assigned court date. If you choose to mail your payment, you must sign the back of the ticket and enclose a payment in the form of a personal check or money order (made out to the Village of Hartville Mayor's Court) and mail to the following address:

Drop Box for Off-Hour Payments
The Hartville Village Mayor's Court has installed a payment drop box for those who cannot make payments during regular business hours.

The drop box is located at the front entrance to the Village Hall. Payments must be made by check or money order, payable to the Village of Hartville, and must have the proper ticket number written on it.

If a receipt is required, the payment should include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Must Appear Citations
If your citation indicates that you must appear in Mayor's Court, the court date and time appears in the lower left corner. If a fine is levied by the Magistrate, payments shall be made in the form of cash, personal check or money order only. NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.

Financial Responsibility

The State of Ohio law requires that everyone must provide proof of insurance when requested by a law enforcement officer at the time of your offense, you must bring proof of insurance for the date of your offense to your court appearance or enclose proof with your payment. Proof of insurance is required on the vehicle that you were driving on the date and time you were cited.

Waiver of Statutory Time

If you are unable to appear on the court date that is given on your citation, you may ask for a continuance. In order to do so, the Waiver of Statutory Time must be filled out and presented to the Clerk of Mayor's Court.
