Spring and Fall Cleanup

The Village of Hartville offers free pickup of refuse to its residents twice a year.  All refuse to be hauled
must be in disposable containers not to exceed 50 pounds each and placed at the curb the night before
to guarantee pickup.
(CURB is to be, on the street where the house fronts; no alley pickups.)

No dirt, rocks, concrete or material of this nature will be hauled.  No household paints, solvents,
insecticides, pesticides, oil, anti-freeze, empty gas tanks or hazardous chemicals will be taken.
No tires will be accepted due to House Bill 592 banning tires from Solid Waste Landfill Disposal.
No construction/demolition materials will be accepted; i.e. shingles, wood, drywall, siding, etc.
Tree limbs and brush must be in bundles not in excess of four feet in length or 50 pounds in
weight.  Appliances and furniture will be accepted; however, refrigerators, freezers and air
conditioners must have an appropriate Red Tag affixed, to indicate the freon has been removed.

Removal of all junk from a property helps to maintain its value, increase its attractiveness and
eliminates possiblities of hazards to health and safety.

Keeping Down Weeds

Any person owning or having charge of land within the municipality shall keep such
property free and clear from all noxious weeds and rank vegetation on the lots owned
or controlled by him or her at least twice a year, once between June 1st and July 1st,
and then once again between August 1st and September 1st.
